Drano and Liquid Plumber are just too intense for your PVC. They're going to melt away the plastic, compromise the integrity of the PVC, and make it to where you have a catastrophic failure of your plumbing system far sooner than you probably should. There are plenty of other ways to do this. One, if we have hair stuck in a drain, please, for the love of all things holy, do not use Drano, Liquid Plumber, or like, I mean, a Goof Off is kind of a little bit of an extreme example. Don't do that. It'll melt. So, what should we do instead? There are things called enzymatic cleaning tablets. We can just pop one of those down there in the sink or right there by the drain, and as we run water over it, it's going to melt, and it will start to clean the P-trap in a natural way that is not going to eat your PVC. And if an enzymatic cleaner isn't capable of doing it, which you can get for like 15 bucks at any hardware store, get just like one of those like hand snakes. You're going to have to pull hair out of the drain at some point, or you're going to have to melt it a melt it away with an enzymatic cleaner. You can get the enzymatic cleaner for like 15 bucks, or you can get like a hand snake for probably like $20. This is a much cheaper alternative than buying Drano or Liquid Plumber and ruining your PVC in your plumbing system. Yours. >> [music]

Dude wipes are marketed as flushable. They're liars. There's no such thing as a flushable wipe and your plumbers will tell you I mean we could queue up a bunch of images I'm certain of it of just flushable wipe nightmares in people's plumbing systems. For the love, please please don't trust a product when it says flushable wipe. A flushable wipe is only flushable cuz when it you press it it goes away and it's out of sight out of mind. After 6 months of having dude wipes flushed down your main sewer line we're going to have just a stack basically a warehouse amount of used dude wipes which come on. Please stop flushing them. Stop it. I expect more from you. You're a pro homeowner. You're a rose. >> [singing] [music]

Why Toilets Leak in Oklahoma City, OK | Simple Plumbing Upgrade That Prevents Water Damage

Most people get freaked out when water starts coming from a toilet cuz they're like, "Oh, is it dirty water?" Most of the time it's not. Most of the time whenever water starts coming out of your toilet, it is going to be from the connection to your toilet tank or from the wall itself because that gasket, that O-ring inside of the hose has gone bad. You could also save a little bit of heartache if you just upgrade that hose. Make sure that that hose is upgraded as well as your washing machine. They're right next to each other. If you're standing in the blue box store or the orange box store, those two lines are going to be right next to each other. And the only difference, make sure though that you get one that's specific for each one because the diameter of the two are different. So, you need to make sure that you get the proper one. You can't just grab two and take them both home and then use them for different things. They look the same. They aren't the same. It's worth the upgrade. It's 15 bucks, guys. It's going to make a huge difference in, you know, your security during the go. You know, don't have to worry about water coming where it's not supposed to. Yonder rows. >> [singing] [music]
Why Toilet Cleaning Tablets Can Cause Plumbing Problems | OKC Plumbing Tips

The fifth product that I do not recommend are those like toilet bowl cleaning tablets. That is like you just like plop it in like it's an upper decker. Don't do that. You're not going to achieve self-cleaning toilet status by dropping a like cleaning tablet into the tank. Or like I've seen like some where they like open up an entire thing of like Fabuloso and put it in the tank and it slowly drains. It creates a really cool siphon. It's a neat science experiment. But whenever we expose the porcelain to that much chemical over that long of a time, we are compromising the integrity of the porcelain. So, please don't do that. If we put a cleaner inside of the bowl or have like a liquid cleaner that's constantly drip feeding into the bowl, we're going to be compromising that rubber gasket between the tank and the toilet itself. Meaning that we're going to have water coming where from where it's not supposed to. So, if you're going to clean your toilet, just take cleaner directly to bowl, scrub it down, flush it once a week. You're golden. Fantastic. Your home. >> [music] [singing]
