As Oklahoma temperatures rise, spring AC maintenance is key to keeping your system running at peak performance. At Yarbrough & Sons Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, we recently completed a full air conditioning tune-up for a homeowner in Blanchard - and caught a few things early before they could become major problems. Ensuring regular ac maintenance is crucial in Blanchard.
What We Checked During the Maintenance Visit
Our technician followed a comprehensive checklist to ensure everything was in great shape:
✔ Refrigerant Pressure – Checked levels to confirm proper system cooling.
✔ Compressor & Motor Amperage – Tested current draw to ensure everything is running within range.
✔ Capacitor Testing – Both capacitors were within factory specifications.
✔ Blower Section & Evaporator Coil – Both were clean, helping maintain good airflow.
✔ Drain Line – Cleared out to prevent clogs and water damage.
✔ Motor Bearings – Checked both the blower and condenser fan motor bearings - no wear found.
✔ Condensing Unit – Thoroughly cleaned the outdoor unit to support airflow through the coil.
✔ Temperature Split – Verified the difference between return and supply temperatures to ensure the system is cooling efficiently, highlighting the importance of regular ac maintenance in Blanchard.
What We Found
⚠ While everything is functioning properly now, we did find a pitted and charred contactor, which we’ve flagged for future attention. Replacing it before it fails will help prevent mid-season breakdowns. This is a clear example of why regular ac maintenance is vital in Blanchard.
