2026 is here. The clocks have rolled forward to another year and here we are at spring time 2026 and you're wondering, "Tucker, what's it going to cost to replace my AC system because it barely made it through last summer and I got to be honest with you, I'm not sure how much it's going to cost to replace it this summer." And I got the answer. So, let's get to the goods. So, if we're replacing an AC system alone, we're not going to touch the furnace or air handler if you're total electric. If we're just replacing the condenser and the coil, the cost to replace is going to fall somewhere between 7 and $9,000. Young bro. >> [music]
Re-using refrigerant lines on this system replacement in Edmond, OK

so we're definitely going to want to go back and uh reinsulate this but with it being a 5ton I can reuse the refrigerant lines there's no leak in the line there and so that's something that we can look at doing an opportunity to save the customer a little bit of money especially if the lines are in good shape and they just need to be re reinsulated anytime we're reusing refrigerant lines it's worth saying that before we install the new equipment we always do a nitrogen pressure test of the existing lines to ensure that there are no leaks um and if there is a leak we can catch it on the front end and then have a conversation with the customer that we do indeed need to go and replace those lines um but often times if the lines are in good shape and it matches the tonnage of the system I try to reuse them if at all possible um so that we can one save the customer a little bit of money and uh two we don't have a refrigerant line to run up the side of the house as well we've been serving OKC since 1988 so share this with a friend who needs help with Home Services
Is it worth replacing your AC coil? Why a Full HVAC Upgrade Might Save You More

If you're looking at replacing this, the cost of it we're going to actually have to quote out because obviously all these coils are going to be different prices. But if you were going to look at a ballpark, you're going to be looking at about $3,000 to change out that coil. If you're looking at replacing this for around 3,000 4,000 dollars, you're really looking at saving a lot of money by just replacing the whole thing. And when I say that, I'm saying that in the long run, you could be replacing a compressor, you could be replacing other parts. If you get a brand new system, you're going to be replacing all those parts at once instead of at a later date. Your world
Thoughts on package units on residential homes

if it was up to me when I put a package unit on every home I don't know necessarily if I would it wouldn't be a bad idea just because everything's located right here you're going to have an outdoor unit but where you run into the problem is you can see this footprint of this unit takes up a lot of room so it's not necessarily ideal for every house some houses you know like my house I don't have this much room on my sidey yard to be put in a package unit I would take up my whole sidey yard so I couldn't get around things that I need to get around to get back and forth so I necessarily wouldn't suggest it to every house but a package unit is a great unit that you can have everything Allin one obviously the negative thing about them is if you're going to replace one part you don't almost be better off replacing the whole unit but we can still get parts for this and you could do an evaporator coil if you needed to you could do a heat exchanger we've been to the Home Comfort game since 88 here in OKC share this with a friend who's in need of some serious Home Comfort help
Replacing Just the AC? | HVAC Replacement Oklahoma City, OK

Whenever we replace just an AC and coil, we're having to pull the furnace anyway. So, we're having to spend the labor anyway because it takes the same amount of manpower to take a coil out of the closet or take a coil off of a unit. It takes the same amount of manpower as it does to remove the furnace because to change out a coil, we also have to change out or really not change out but pull the furnace and order to change out the coil. So, we're doing the same amount of labor. So, really what that means is we're able to save on labor by just replacing the furnace and coil in tandem or the air handler and coil in tandem rather than essentially having to do the work twice. Do not build a deck around your AC
Video published

Oh no. So they built the deck around the condenser. How do you clean it, service it or replace it? We had a customer that had a condenser outside and and he wanted to build a deck over the top of his air conditioner of his condenser. And that's a really bad idea. You have to be able to have that that that fan pushes air out. And so that's that's how that air conditioner works is is disseminating heat out from from the unit. So, if you've got a a deck over the top of that condenser, the heat is just cycling right there. So, it wouldn't do a good job of cooling your house. Your condenser needs to be away from any sort of overhanging structure generally or mid-ranging structure and building around it. That's not good either. So, word of the wise, if you're going to build a deck, don't build it around your condenser outside.
